Eden White's will of 1833 states he was a yeoman. He was a tenant farmer, working part of the Lowdnes-Stone-Norton estate in Chalford. The White family farmed Chalford Green Farm, now Upper Chalford Farm, for over 150 years. His youngest son, Thomas, took over the farm after his father's death.There is an inscription in Aston Rowant church which states: The rent of Half acre balk in Chalford in this parish now in occupation of Mr Eden White at Ten Shillings per Acre belongs to the Poor of this Parish.Eden White served as churchwarden in 1801. Eden White, with other notable characters from Aston Rowant, agreed in 1799 to free the parish of moles by employing the services of John Grant.
